Creole Beans

3/4 cup onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
3/4 cup green pepper, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
28 oz can tomatoes (or 2-3 cups fresh tomatoes plus 6 ounces tomato juice)
1 1/4 teaspoon pepper
15 oz. can kidney beans, drained and rinsed (or 1 3/4 cups home cooked beans)
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

In large saucepan, heat oil and saute onion about five minutes.
When onion is soft, add green pepper and cook another five minutes until pepper is just softened.
Add all remaining ingredients except beans and cayenne. Simmer uncovered about five minutes
Add drained beans and cayenne. Heat 10-15 minutes more.
