Bread Pudding

3 cups soft bread crumbs
2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
dash of vanilla


Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease baking dish
Scald milk and butter
Combine remaining ingredients and blend into milk
Place mixture in baking dish and place dish in larger dish with one inch hot water
Bake 40-45 minutes at 350

Serve warm, with whisky sauce
