Curried Corn

1 tablespoon il
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
2 medium onions, sliced
1/2 teaspoon ground garlic
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon coriander
1 1/4 cups water, divided
1/2 teaspoon chopped ginger
1/2 cup yogurt
salt to taste
5 easr of corn, shucked
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garam masala


Heat oil and fry mustard seeds until they pop. Add onions and fry until golden.

Mix garlic and three spices in a small bowl with 1/4 cup of water. Add to onions and cook about 5 minutes.

Add ginger, yogurt, salt and corn. Cook 5 minutes more.

Add 1 cup of water and cook 20 minutes. When corn is soft, turn off heat. Add lemon juice and garam masala.
