Kheer

4 cups milk
1 cup rice
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup sliced almonds
2 teaspoons rose water
1 teaspoon cardamom powder


In a heavy saucepan, bring milk to a boil and add rice and water. Cook until rice is soft. Add sugar and cook 10 minutes more.

Remove from heat. Add raisins, almonds and rosewater. Transfer to serving bowl and sprinkle with cardamom.
