Basic Shortbread Pastry Dough

2 cups all-purpose flour
14 tablespoons butter
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon chilled heavy cream
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt


Combine ingredients in food processor and pulse until dough starts gathering in clumps. Turn out on countertop and gather into mound.

Use for sweet tarts and pie crusts.
