Sambal Kecap Pedas (Spicy Sweet Shallots and Chilies)

5 shallots peeled and thinly sliced
8 Thai red chili (cabe rawit) stemmed and cut into small pieces
Indonesian kecap manis

Place the shallots and chili in a bowl and douse with about 4-5 Tbsp of kecap manis.

Use in any Indonesian rice dish, including nasi goreng.
