Pears Marsala

4 small Anjou or Bosc pears
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup Marsala or sweet sherry
1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/8 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon chopped almonds

Heat oven to 375 degrees and place rack in lower third of oven
Peel pears, halve lengthwise and core, rub pears with lemon
Place pears upside down in baking dish and top with Marsala
Scatter butter on top
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top
Bake 40-50 minutes, basting occasionally
Toast almonds and sprinkle on top
