Lemon Bars

1/3 cup margarine or butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
2 eggs
2 additional tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons finely shredded lemon peel
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
powdered sugar (for sprinkling on top)

Heat oven to 350 degrees
Beat margarine with electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds
Add 1/4 cup sugar, beat until combined
Beat in 1 cup flour until crumbly
press into the bottom of an ungreased 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes or until golden

Combine eggs, remaining sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, lemon peel, juice and baking powder
Beat 2 minutes until thoroughly combined
Pour over hot baked layer
Bake at 350 about 20 minutes more or until center is set
Cool, sift powdered sugar on top, cut into bars
