Basic Fruit Cobbler

1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons margarine or butter
1 beaten egg
3 tablespoons milk
Fruit filling of choice, heated through


Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon
Cut in margarine until mixture resembles course crumbs
Combine egg and milk in separate container
Add to flour mixture, stirring just to moisten
Place filling in 8×8 inch baking dish
Drop topping into 6 mounds atop hot filling
Bake 20-25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
